Love the halloween costumes! That is so cute that Annie wanted to be a teacher...maybe the girl next door said it but really Bec I think she's emulating her real teacher...her wonderful mommy! I love the candy trade in thing! I really don't want my kids to have my issues with loving candy to much! Maybe that would work for them?! It certainly hasn't been great having all this candy around the house when I can't eat it (well, maybe thats a good thing...but my self control is only so great...). Glad you guys dressed up! I still love doing that, and its embarrassing but do you remember me still dressing up when I was a senior (yes, I guess I love candy THAT much!) So i LOVE Sinfeild's book you put up there! I've never seen that before but I can totally relate to the not being able to finish reading that story cause your laughing to hard!! That is totally me!! Great article Bec! I can't beleive that Judd actually has that sign out there but thank goodness, do bad Dewey didn't even have that much respect for his patients...at least Judd warns you. Actually he should add to the sign that states if you don't want a forceps delivery then go somewhere else too--honestly he should just state that he will give you general anest. on a vag. delivery so he can do what he wants and you can wake up with a baby and you don't even have to do any "work"....!! But that is beside the point. I'm sure it was hard to know exactly what to say but I think you did a wonderful job! Its funny that the article quotes the 2 doula's that have ever assisted me (I sure pic GREAT ones!). And I LOVE the pics of Luke! He has gotten so big! I love the Two of everthing... they change so fast you need to do it minute to minute! And you might think I'm crazy but looking at one of those pics I totally saw your Dad Bec!! Anyway...sorry for the book...I should have just emailed you! But one last thing...I love the pic of you and Andrew on the side of your blog...what a beautiful couple!!

Little teacher Annie approaching the door sure looks like a little Becca to me!
I don't know if it's because we've never tried the "give them full access to their candy bags" approach, or if it's just our kids' young ages, but after a few pieces Halloween night, we put their bags out of reach and they hardly ask about it. Makes for great bribes and quick lunchbox treats, not to mention yummy milkshake ingredients and stocking sweets(yup- we usually forget about it for that long...). I just heard of a local dentist who pays kids money per pound, then sends all the candy to soldiers over seas. We'll be supporting that one next year.
I just loved that daylight savings fell on that night. I'm ready to petition daylight savings occur EVERY Halloween night-weekend or not!

Becca I like this YOU blogging thing! Even though I see you guys all the time I still like seeing your blog posts! :) We've been using the halloween candy as treats for going poop on the potty! :) And we've eaten a bunch too.... but this is a good idea for next year!!! And maybe Rob and I need to try this cleanse thing... except we might collapse and die without our vices! :)

Love the fun costumes! Your children are so darling! I cannot believe your baby is so big!! I want to come see him and am just waiting for all of our sickness to pass... (we have had the flu and colds) I LOVE your candy/gingerbread house idea and I am totally going to do that next year. We did not have much candy because we only went trick or treating to a few homes!! So it was not a huge deal this year luckily! I hope to see you soon!

What cute costumes and even cuter kids:). My philosophy with the candy is to let them have as much as they want, AFTER dinner every night. That way, they still eat three healthy meals, but I'm not turning it into a control issue either. Eric gorges and stuffs himself and Brigham has a natural sense of when to stop eating and only has a few pieces a night, but I feel like that's part of their personalities, and it doesn't worry me. Especially since Eric will do the same thing to a bowl of grapes or sliced tomatoes. I did hear of an idea called the "Switch Witch", where they eat some Halloween night and then leave the rest on the door step and in the morning it's gone and there's a new toy for them. I love that you have such respect for your kids things- I think that's wonderful and I wish I had more of it- you've inspired me!
