there is not any cheese or anything else added to these eggs
Our chickens were considerate enough to wait until we returned from our trip back east and laid their first egg on the day we returned. I was the one who found the first egg, and I must admit that I was at least as excited as any of the kids. I felt like a kid myself on Christmas morning. It was a very exciting event and we haven’t gotten bored with it yet!
It was our adventurous (aka troublesome) chicken Alice who first began laying. No surprise there. She is the one who first learned to roost, who first started trying to escape from her box as a little chick, the first one to get into our garden, and the one who always seems to be off on her own little adventure or causing trouble in some way.
It has now been 3 weeks since we got our very first egg. We now have 3 chickens laying, and I’m sure the other 3 won’t be far behind.
These eggs are yummy! We’re really loving these new pets of ours!

Congratulations!! We are really missing our chickens and their delicious eggs. Once we even got a huge egg with two yolks…twins! Enjoy!

You're chickens crack me up! I'm so happy that they are finally pulling their weight. haha They look yummy!
P.S. it was so fun seeing you at Barnes and Nobles for MockingJay. I miss hanging out
That's pretty cool! Maddie might even stop asking for a kitten and start asking for chickens when I show her the picture of Annie collecting eggs!
Looks like the farming dreams are coming true. Those eggs look delicious! Bon appétit!
Woo hoo! That is so exciting! I love Annie's face! And those eggs do look de-lish!
Rebecca,
I just sent you an email with a bradley question. Let me know if you don’t get it, if I have the wrong email or something and I’ll send it again. I’m so excited you have chickens! Fresh eggs, what a dream! Are you still in the same house as when I visited you in ’08? Or did you move more rural to be able to have the coops? Did you build the coops or buy them? Let me know all the details. We want chickens, but not until after our garden box project is finished, which is taking a while. Enjoying these flavorful yokes! Julie
